Level 2 Award for Upskilling a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
As a result of changes by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), from February 2013, Door Supervisors who wish to renew their licences are required to undergo additional training.
So, to gain the award, and in order to renew a license, learner will need to attend a training course for a minimum of 12 contact hours (2 days) – as stipulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) – and pass the examination in all modules.
Structure of Course
The Level 2 Award for Upskilling a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry, a SIA-approved course, which contains two compulsory modules, is delivered every week at various centres/venues across London. The course has been designed to be completed in 2 days and can be undertaking by learners aged 18 and over.
The modules covered are:
• Module 1 – Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
• Module 2 – Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors within the Private Security Industry.
Module 1 – Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry is assessed by:
• Practical test
• A written test.
Module 2 – Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors within the Private Security Industry assessed by:
• A 15-question multiple-choice written examination, which duration is 25 minutes
• To be successful, learners must achieve a score of at least 11 out of 15 questions.
Condition of Entry
There are no prerequisites for attending this course. However, it is advised that candidates have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
